The boat buyer's agent
Tell us the boat. We will go get the price.
You describe what you want to be on the water in. We find who has it, work out what it should cost, and negotiate the out-the-door number while you stay off the lot. A flat fee, agreed up front, never a percentage.

How the work breaks down
Five stages. You approve every move that involves your money.
We pin down the boat
Type, size, power and the options that matter for how you will use it. If the boat you named is wrong for your lake, your crew or your tow vehicle, we say so now. It is cheaper to hear it from us than from the first rough afternoon.
We find who has it
Dealers and private sellers, near you and further out when the numbers justify delivery. For new boats we look at which dealers are holding that model and how long it has been sitting. For used boats we look at listing history and price changes.
We set the number before we talk
We build a comparison from the same model and year with the same power and similar hours, then adjust for equipment and region. That gives us a target and a walk-away figure that we share with you before any offer goes out.
We negotiate, front and back
All seller contact runs through us. We work the price of the boat first, then freight, prep, documentation, the trailer, and whatever the finance office tries to add. We only care about one figure: the total you pay to own it.
You inspect, review and decide
On a used boat we help you arrange an independent survey and sea trial and write the offer so its findings count. We read the purchase agreement line by line. Then it is your call. If the right answer is "not this one," we start again.
Why it works
Boat deals are harder to read than car deals
Most people buy a boat a handful of times in their lives. The person across the desk sells several a week. That gap in practice is the whole business model of a dealership, and it is wider on the water than on the road for three reasons.
Pricing data is thin
There is no widely used invoice-price lookup for boats. Value guides exist, but they trail the market and handle options poorly. Two boats with the same name on the side can differ by a large margin because of the engine alone. Working out a fair number takes real comparison work, and most buyers understandably skip it.
Every quote is built differently
One dealer's price includes freight, prep and a trailer. Another advertises the bare hull with the smallest engine and adds the rest at the desk. Until the quotes are rebuilt on the same equipment list, comparing them tells you nothing. We rebuild them. Our dealer fee guide shows what each line is.
Condition is hidden, and it is expensive
A used car with a bad history usually shows it on a report. A used boat with a wet transom or a salt-eaten cooling system shows it to a surveyor with a moisture meter, and to almost nobody else. Engine hours help, but only when they can be verified. See what engine hours really tell you.
| New from a dealer | Used from a dealer | Used from a private seller | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pricing work | Same model across competing dealers, time on lot, model-year timing | Comparable listings, what the dealer likely paid on trade | Comparable listings and how long this one has been for sale |
| Main negotiation | Margin, freight, prep, engine and trailer configuration | Price, reconditioning claims, fees added at the desk | Price against condition, and what the survey finds |
| Inspection | Delivery check and water test | Independent survey on anything substantial | Independent survey and sea trial, engine report |
| Paperwork risk | Add-ons and rate markup in the finance office | Same, plus "as is" language | Title, liens, hull identification number, safe transfer of funds |

We only care about one figure: the total you pay to own it.
Who this is for
First-time buyers who would like to skip the expensive lessons. Experienced owners who know the game and have better uses for their weekends. Anyone buying at a distance, where a trip to look at the wrong boat costs real money. And people who simply do not enjoy negotiating, which is most people.
If you have already been quoted, the fastest start is the free deal check. If you are moving up and have a boat to sell, our brokerage service can handle that side so the two deals are not tangled together at one dealership.
What is included
Everything the flat fee covers
The fee is quoted in writing before we start and does not change with the price of the boat. How our pricing works.
Spec and fit review
A check that the boat suits your water, crew, tow vehicle and storage before anyone starts shopping for it.
Sourcing
Finding the sellers who have the boat, new or used, close to home or worth the delivery.
Market valuation
A target price and a walk-away price built from comparable boats, shared with you up front.
Negotiation
Every conversation with the seller, from first contact to final number. You never take the pressure call.
Paperwork review
The purchase agreement, fee lines, add-on products and loan terms read line by line before you sign.
Inspection coordination
Help choosing an independent surveyor, scheduling the sea trial, and turning the findings into a price change or an exit.
Questions
What buyers ask before hiring us
Will dealers work with a buyer's agent?
Yes. A dealer wants to sell a boat, and a represented buyer is a serious one. What changes is the conversation: it gets shorter, more specific and harder to pad.
What if you cannot beat the price I already have?
Then we tell you that. A deal check costs nothing, and "this is a fair number, sign it" is an answer we are happy to give.
Do I have to buy the boat you find?
No. You approve the target price, you approve the offer, and you can walk at any point up to signing. We would sooner lose a deal than put you in the wrong boat.
Can you help if the boat is in another state?
Yes, and distance is where representation earns its keep. We sort out the price, the survey and the paperwork before you travel. Titling, registration and tax rules differ by state, so we flag what you need to confirm with your own state before closing.
Do you arrange financing?
We are not a lender and earn nothing on your loan. We will help you compare the dealer's offer with an outside approval and spot a marked-up rate. Start with the financing page and calculator.
